The Shadwell Halloween 5km Race & 1km Kids' Fun Run

For the first time ever, Shadwell Runners have teamed up with Friends of Shadwell School (FOSS) to provide this exciting sporting challenge for all the family. 

Choose from the 5km race and/or the 1km Fun Run, and wear your spookiest running gear. 

All profits from these events will go directly to FOSS to support our local primary school.

**Spaces are limited to 130 for the 1km and 100 for the 5km, so book quickly to avoid missing out***

5KM RACE

• Starts at 13:00
• Please arrive in good time to collect your race number. Don't forget safety pins!
• Entry fee of £7 per participant (£5 for affiliated runners - use coupon code AFFILIATED at check out)

• Runners in the 5km category must be 11 years or older. Runners under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

1KM KIDS' FUN RUN

• Starts at 14:30
• Entry fee of £3 per child
• Route starts with a lap around the recreation ground, before heading up Bridle Path Road for approx. 0.4km, then heads back to where you started
• There are no age restrictions. Runners may be accompanied by an adult (for whom ticket is not required).

REFRESHMENTS

There will be refreshments available for participants and spectators before and after both events.

PRIZES

All participants will receive prizes. The fastest male and female in the 5km event will each receive a special prize. There will also be prizes for best fancy dress - so it's not all about the running prowess!

SAFETY

The emphasis is on fun and safety. The events will be fully marshalled and there will be first aiders present. Please follow the instructions of the marshalls, and stay aware of your surroundings. The roads will NOT be closed for the 5km race, so it is your responsibility to stick to pavements and watch out for traffic.

TOILETS

There will be limited toilet facilties available in the Recreation Centre.

PARKING

We encourage you to walk or cycle to these events if at all possible, but there is some parking near the Recreation Centre, a number of spaces will be available in the scout hut car park (on Main Street, next to the Red Lion pub) and there is also on-street parking within Shadwell. Please ensure you park considerately.

RACE PERMIT

Permit number ARC 21/354 (issued by the Association of Running Clubs)

This permit includes Third Party Liability Insurance (liability limited to £10,000,000 for any one occurrence).
